Happenings by Sarah Deller

I've put up some production photos for Our Country's Good. There aren't a lot of our cast in Act II, which is a bit of a shame, but there are some great ones from Act I. Also these photos are sans my petroleum jelly greasy hair - quite a loss indeed.

Tomorrow we audition for The Seagull! Terrifying.

Our Country's Good News Etc by Sarah Deller

I really don't think I can give interviews. I know that it's only natural a writer will put a spin on a story. That's their job. But I don't think I can handle that. I need to speak for myself and on my own terms.

And without further ado, here's an interview and a news article.

Show week by Sarah Deller

Last night was the first student preview of Our Country's Good. The audience seemed to respond well to it! Lots of laughs, which was very nice. It's strange to think I won't have another shot at it tonight, especially since there are things I want to improve on, but hopefully I'll be itching to go tomorrow and it'll result in a great show.

It's strange because I'm beginning to realize there are so many other things I need to do before the end of the year. All I'd been thinking about was OCG and now I'm suddenly realizing there are letters that need to be written and headshots to be sent out and monologues to rehearse and notes to study.... AH!

In the dressing room. I put up some string lights and a photo of Dames Maggie and Judi. The lights really help the atmosphere; the fluorescent bulbs in here are atrocious. And Maggie and Judi are watching over us, proud of us, making sure we go do good work.

Tech Week! by Sarah Deller

What a week is ahead of us! I'm so excited. By this time next week, we will have opened! We're in Tech week now, and we have Q2Q tonight. I know actors are notorious for being grumbly about Q2Q, and it can be a long process, but I don't mind it at all. As Rob keeps reminding us, it means many opportunities to act! It's extra time, in a way, to get specific with things. Double casting has its own set of challenges and rewards, and one of the challenges is there isn't always a lot of rehearsal time. But that's a really great learning opportunity - in the professional world, there often isn't a lot of time to rehearse.

I've also found out I won an award with FSPA! That's quite exciting. I really don't know anything about it. It will be presented next week at opening. And Marina and I are giving an interview next week for the Herald. It's lovely to have so much going on. I need to keep working on Liz, though! We open so soon!
